By the early 1990s, the conglomerate ventured into the manufacturing and trading sectors, producing cement, paper, and tissue and distributing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). These products, known for their quality and reliability, quickly captured the market.
A significant milestone was achieved in the early 2000s when Meghna Cement Mills Limited was listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE). This public listing bolstered Bashundhara's financial base for further expansion and reinforced its standing within the business community, allowing the public to share in the company's profits. Meghna Cement Mills remains one of the nation’s top-performing listed entities.
Creating New Opportunities in Real Estate

In 2009, the conglomerate made significant strides in the media sector by founding East West Media Group Ltd. This entity owns several prestigious publications, including "Kaler Kantho" and "Bangladesh Pratidin," the "Daily Sun," and the online news portal "banglanews24.com." Moreover, Bashundhara launched News24, a top news channel, and T Sports, Bangladesh’s premier sports channel, along with Radio Capital, an FM station with a varied programming slate, significantly impacting the media landscape.
Industrial Contributions and Innovations
Beyond cement and media, Bashundhara has made substantial inroads into sectors like Ready-Mix Cement, Toiletries, Paper, LPG, Oil and Gas, and Food. The group is a significant supplier of LPG through Bashundhara LP Gas and produces essential hygiene products like Bashundhara Tissue and sustainable paper products through Bashundhara Paper Mills.
Bashundhara Food & Beverage Industries Ltd. supports national food security by producing edible oils and other staples.

The group's commitment to excellence has been acknowledged through numerous awards. Bashundhara Tissue and Bashundhara LPG Gas have been recognized repeatedly as "Best Brands. " In 2023, four of the group’s products were awarded "Superbrands" status. In 2021, the conglomerate was celebrated as the "Best Business Conglomerate Group."
